Enrolling in a TIE Program from Start to Finish
Step 1: Connect with TIE. Email us at andrew@tiewashington.com, visit our website tiewashington.com, or give us a call at 202-802-4780
Step 2: Establish program goals, itinerary and cost. TIE will work with school administrators, and/or language teachers to design the program that best fits your school model and mission.
Step 3: TIE will come to your school to host a parent info-session laying out the itinerary and going over all program planning steps that will happen in the months leading up to departure.
Step 4: Send out applications to students and spread the word! A TIE representative will be available through this process to help answer any questions that may arise, assist parents and students with fundraising ideas, and share any other information that may be needed during the sign-up stage.
Step 5: Prepare for travel. Once all applications are in, TIE will maintain a dialogue with all participants making sure everyone is informed regarding health, safety, visas and passports, and day of departure logistics. We will also visit your school to host a cross-cultural communication session for when students are in the homestay to ensure that your students get the maximum value from their time in China.
Step 6: Connect with host families. Each TIE scholar will be able to connect with their host family prior to travel, beginning a dialogue and friendship so that transition into the home is that much easier upon arrival
