All applications must be submitted by the agreed upon due date specific to your program, in order to be accepted for participation.
All participants under the age of 18 and traveling without an accompanying parent or guardian are required to have a notarized parental permission form. This form must be turned into TIE at least 1 month prior to departure.
Late Registration
Participants who wish to register past the due date may do so, based on availability. Should you wish to register past the registration due date, a one time $50 administrative fee will be assessed, as well as all other payments which are past due at the time of registration.
Payment Schedule
Each program has a unique payment schedule. Your unique payment schedule will be included in your application, as well as in the checklist you will receive following registration. You will receive a bill one week prior to the due date for each payment. Failure to submit payment on time will result in a $50 late fee. TIE reserves the right to cancel participants who fail to submit payment within two weeks of a payment deadline. In the event of cancellation your deposit is non-refundable, as well as any prior payments that are beyond the refundable date as indicated in your program’s payment schedule.
Returned checks will also result in a $50 administrative fee to be remitted immediately, along with the missing payment. TIE reserves the right to cancel participants who fail to bring their account current following a returned check.
Cancellations
Should you not be able to participate in the TIE program in which you are enrolled, TIE does allow cancellations. The $200 deposit is the only non-refundable payment. All other payments are refundable up to 30 days after they are made.
In order to cancel you must submit written confirmation to info@tiewashington.com
Refunds due to cancellation will take up to 15 business days to process
Change of Participant
At no point can a TIE participant transfer their account to another participant. All payments submitted will be applied to a specific account and are non-transferable.

For China participants this includes a valid passport at least 6 months prior to, and after your departure as well as a valid visa at least 1 month prior to departure. Non-US participants must have a valid passport from your country of origin, as well as valid re-entry documentation to return to the US. Failure to provide valid travel documents as stated above may result in trip cancellation.
Surcharges
Baggage: All extra baggage fees due to overweight, or excess luggage will be incurred by the participant.
TIE program prices are based on a minimum of 10 travellers. Groups smaller than 10 may have a different final price. A price increase or decrease will be communicated to participants within two weeks of registration.
Hotels: Hotels are based on twin shares. Requests for individual rooms cannot be accommodated.
Alternative Air Arrangements
Participants may change either their outbound or return flight (subject to fare rules and restrictions). TIE cannot guarantee that alternate flights are available. Participants will be charged an administrative fee of $200, plus any additional charges made by the airline for the date or routing selected.
